Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco Unveiled “Sunset Blvd,” single and a slumber new music video that was inspired by their first date, all when displaying a compelling fashion narrative.
Produced by Blanco, 37, and shot by Petra CollinsIt is styled as an early-80s fever dream, with a foggy lens over the camera and the bright Neon Street lights. The video opens with Gomez, 32, in black satin uniform and slip slip slinky (both by Victoria’s Secret) with High-High-High Wolford and Stilettos Christian Louboutin du lacr. The vision of a rare beauty founder is framed by bulky provocative drivers and bold crimson lip.
Styled by Erin WalshThe pop star transformed seamlessly between retro pin-up imagery and contemporary interpretation of the underwear-like-dillad trend. One look, in particular, sees Gomez in a Silk White Comme Si shirt, dressed too big as if borrowed from a Blanco cupboard, and also deliberately left unstopped to reveal a vibrant Fleur Du Mal Balconette living bra.
Blanco also makes a appearance in the video, dressed in a sharp white suit, which adds a contrasting element to the sensible black gomez wardrobe. One visual of gomez as a huge, smiling and gigging in a pint size blanko, refers to this famous scene Francis Ford Coppola1982 Cult-Classic Film, One of the heartand nodds to his fame more than life.

YouTube/Selena GomezThe fact that it was inspired by their date at the Jitlada Thai restaurant adds a layer of personal significance to the track. Before releasing the song, Gomez shared Instagram Post from the couple’s “official first photo” clouding the lines between their private and public lives.
The chorus, with its live imagery of “caught you naked, mid -Sunset Boulevard,” and “everyone watching,” conveys the essence of a love relationship that plays out on the world stage.

While the early aesthetic of the 80s video may have suggested a method-inspired approach to costume, a closer examination also reveals a strategic location of rare substrates that resonated well beyond the restrictions of the set.

At Givenchy, an elegant triangle bras was revealed as an art under diaphanous mesh dresses, creating a compelling dialogue between vulnerability and strength. Miu Miu’s layered slips, with their subtle suggestions of welfare, offered a more harsh interpretation of the trend, while Valentino, in a bold and unconventional posture, set elaborate crafted satin bralettes on top of pure shirts, challenging conventional ideas of female decorations.
Givenchy’s Creative Director, Sarah BurtonHe echoed this feeling in his show last week, noting: “I want to tackle everything about modern women. Strength, vulnerability, emotional intelligence, feeling powerful or very sexy. All. ”This echoed through the collections, transforming an open bra of suggestive details into a symbol of self-instrument.
Although it is undoubtedly enchanting and reflects the close themes of the song, Gomez’s own Sartorial interpretation held confidence. It was a clear indication that underwear is no longer restricted to the kingdom of male gaze but has evolved into a powerful symbol of a female agency.
Indeed, “Sunset Blvd” is more than just a song; It is a fashion exploration of modern romance, where intimacy and theater intertwine. Gomez and Blanco are not just sharing their music; They share their story, with all carefully selected outfits and every respiratory lyric.
