The senior sergeant detective Andy Sonders said at a press conference on Friday that the couple came out with some “grocery subjects”.
Mr. Philips disappeared into the desert with her three children in December 2021. Police believe that he took the children after the loss of legitimate custody of their mother.

Last October, Mr. Philips and his three children were publicly noticed after the disappearance when a group of teenagers noticed their hikes and filmed the meeting.
At the time, police said the children did not contact other people and did not receive education.
Last year, the authorities offered a cash reward for the information that led to the safe return of the children – but the proposal ended before stated.
Mr. Philips’ family has publicly asked him to return home.
“Tom – I am very sad what you thought needed to do it. Without considering how much we love and support you,” his mother wrote in a note provided by local media.
“It hurts every time I see photos of children and you and see some things that are still here.”
