Authorities in Egypt are looking for a 3000-year-old bracelet, who reported that he had disappeared without a leading museum in Cairo.
A rare gold group, decorated with globular beads of the Lapuli, goes back to the reign of King Amenemop, Pharaoh 21st dynasty of ancient Egypt, which ruled from 993 to 984bc.
The Ministry of Antiquities said it took immediate action after the bracelet disappeared from the Egyptian restoration laboratory, and the case was sent to the police.
The drawing of the bracelet was distributed to all Egyptian airports, marine portions and land crosses as “precaution to prevent smuggling attempts,” the ministry added.
A specialized committee was also set up to carry out inventory and consideration of all artifacts stored in the restoration laboratory.
The ministry said it intentionally postponed the announcement of the disappearance of the bracelet “to ensure the appropriate environment for the progress of the investigation,” but did not mention when the jewelry was last seen.
The Egyptian newspaper al-Missry al-Imi reported that in recent days the disappearance was discovered when the museum staff were preparing for the sending of dozens of artifacts to Rome for an exhibition, which should open next month.
The Egyptian Museum in Cairo is the oldest archaeological museum in the Middle East. It houses more than 170,000 artifacts, including a gilded wooden funeral mask.
The disappearance of the bracelet occurs six weeks before the opening of the Great Egyptian Museum in the neighboring Giz, where the world -famous treasures of the tomb of King Tutankhomun were transferred and will be exhibited at the exhibition.
