The 14th match of the SA20 2025 will take place between Sunrisers Eastern Cape i Durban Super Giants in Sant Jordi Park, Gqeberha. This will be Eastern Cape’s first home game of the season. The iconic venue has not hosted a T20 event since November 2024, when it hosted the T20I encounter between India i south africa.
St George’s Park in Gqeberha is known for its unpredictability, with games at the same ground varying drastically in terms of scoring. Last season’s SA20 matches showed this variation, with one match seeing combined scores in excess of 400, while another was marred by a low-scoring encounter. In a recent T20 match at the venue, India were restricted to just 124 runs, with South Africa chasing down the target in the 19th over despite losing seven wickets. The pitch consists of two strips, one conducive to high-scoring matches and the other where the ball does not hit the bat well, challenging the batsmen. In the SA20 2024 season, the average first innings score was 153, while the second innings average was 145, highlighting the site’s reputation for lower-scoring affairs.
