Sheffler won the Open Championship for the first time in his career. The best finish he had previously been last year was tied to the seventh year when the main event was held in the Royal Troon golf club in Scotland.
This year, Shafler walked on the fairway of the Royal Portus in Northern Ireland and did it another day in the office.
He started behind the package with the first circle of 68, but in the second round he got into the 64 area. Eight birds in the second round lifted him into the leader. In the third round, 67 put it in a good dispute to win the title.
Then, on Sunday, it was a more consistent and firm game around.
He finished with five birds and only one double stuffed in the round. He never hesitated in the final round, and no one ever approached him.
In 2025, Shafler won four wins. He won Byron Nelson in May and then went with the PGA Championship. In June, he held Ben Griffin on the memorial.
Harris English took second place with a 13-year denomination. In the last round of the tournament he fired 66. It was the best finish in Major his career. By Sunday, his best finish came in 2013 when he was tied to the 15th.

In the first round he fired 78 and found himself below the leaders when he entered the second round. However, 65 in the second round helped him make a cut. He shot 68 in the third and 64 in the final round.
He got 24 places to break into the tie for 10th place.

Open Championship is the last major in the season. PGA TOUR And the stars of Liv Golf Stars will now end their seasons on the relevant tours and look at the Ryder Cup in late September.
