Scheana Shay looks back at her boyfriend with Eddie Cibrian in her new memoir.
The VanderPump Rules Alum, 40, began a close relationship with the Sunset beach actor, 52, late 2006 while married to Brandi Glanville – a relationship that played out later Beverly Hills Real House Wives and VanderPump Rules.
In a quote from her forthcoming biography, My good sidePublished by Entertainment weekly On Wednesday, July 2, Scheana claims she was unaware that Cibrian was married when they started seeing each other. (Cibrian also got a relationship with singer Leann Rimes While married to a brandy, 52, he shares sons with A mason22, and Jake18.)
Scheana remembers meeting Cibrian after completing a college and moving to Los Angeles at the age of 21. She writes that she has aspirations of “making myself a name in the entertainment industry, whether that was as an actress, a TV host, or a news correspondent,” and landed a job in a cigar lounge highlighted by some Solis names.
It was there that she “set eyes on” the first actor, she writes. “If you asked me when I was growing up what my exact kind, for you, it was Eddie – tall, dark, and handsome, with dimplas. The second we made an eye link, she smiled at me with those dimplans, and I drew,” Scheana shares in her book. “How could I not? He is a lovely man. Our relationship was not romantic of the jump, although the writing was on the wall from day one.”
The “Scheananigans” podcast host tells her and Cibrian to start “Physical Relationship” towards the end of 2006, however, they did not only date.
“Of course, I was asked a million times how I didn’t realize he was married. Why would I have thought he was?” Scheana writes. “He never wore a wedding ring, so I assumed he was single.
According to Scheana, at the time, she did not have an internet browser on his mobile phone and did not own a laptop, so he would check his email in an internet café. “I wasn’t about Googling this hot guy who said he was an actor in LA,” notes.
Scheana says that although she thought of a future with Cibrian, she was not willing to settle down at 21 and start dating Desperate housewives actor Jesse Metcalfe. That romance, she writes, is picked out by the summer of 2007, and fell back to hang regularly with Eddie, ”although their relationship was more than just physical.
Scheana writes that “Eddie came to help me and met most of my friends and even my mother. His best friend joined us with his son too, who was a toddler at the time. We were literally intertwined with our families and the closest people to us.”
However, she remembers that she never went to Cibrian’s house – he always stayed in it. “Did I think it was strange that I never went to his house? No! He lived in Calabasas, supposedly. And I certainly didn’t make the trip to Calabasas in 2007, when Ubers didn’t exist, and I had less than $ 1,000 to my name,” she writes. “It was so much easier and more fun to socialize at Beverly Hills or Hollywood, and my place was closer and more convenient.”
At the time, he said, “I did not see a single red flag, especially as we were not unique.”
Eventually, Scheana writes that a colleague at the Cigar Lounge has been informed that Cibrian was married. “I didn’t believe it (or maybe I didn’t want to believe it) because I was wild about Eddie,” she writes.
Scheana says she faced Cibrian and allegedly responded, “No, that’s crazy. Why would you ask me that?”
“It lit gas in its most basic form,” she writes, noting “I trusted him, so we continued to hang out.”
