More than 1.4 million Muslims started Hajj’s pilgrimage this year in the Saudi Holy City of Mecca, a year after 1300 people were killed, mostly because of the heavy heat.
Saudi authorities say they have strengthened precautions for the annual event.
They planted thousands of trees and installed hundreds of cooled units to help ease 44C (111F) forecasting temperature.
They also banned children under 12 and warned pilgrims trying to hold Haj without official permission to threaten $ 5,000 (3685 pounds) and a 10-year ban.
As of Sunday, officials said more than 269,000 people had stopped from entering Mecca.
Officials said 80% of the pilgrims who died last year, including hundreds of Egyptians and Indonesians, were unregistered, and therefore lacked access to the proper location with air conditioning, transport and other benefits when the temperature reached 51C.
Many Muslims cannot afford the official package of Hajj – which can cost from $ 4,000 to $ 20,000, depending on the country of origin, the duration of stay and the level of comfort – and therefore enter the Gulf Kingdom on tourist visas or visitors.
Hajj is one of the five Islam pillars and takes place on the 12th month of the Islamic lunar calendar.
This is a journey that every adult Muslim must make at least once in their lives, if they can afford it and physically capable.
On the first day of Hajj, the pilgrims -the man had to change his clothes to two white fabrics and enter the state of it. The women put on modest clothes and covered their heads but not face.
The pilgrims headed to the big mosque of Mecca, Holy Islam, and three times circled Kaaba – a ritual known as a commodity. They also could walk seven times between the Safa and Marva hills known as Sa.
Then they went in the mine, 5 km (3 miles), where they would spend the night in the palace city before heading on Thursday, Arafat, where the prophet Muhammad was said to have made a final sermon.
The Saudi Arabia Ministry of Health has urged pilgrims to follow strict guidelines to mitigate the effects of heat, including avoiding the sun and 16:00, using umbrellas for shading and drinking water regularly.
According to Minister Hajj, the shaded areas were increased by 50,000 square M (12 hectares) and more than 400 cooled units were installed.
According to state television, the cooling system in a large mosque is the largest in the world.
More rubberized and cooled roads to lower surface temperature were also built, and artificial intelligence will be used to monitor the drones and help manage the crowds.
In 2015, more than 2,300 people were reportedly killed in mine.
