Sam Asghari was shocked when he found for Britney Spears‘Conservatism when the pair first started.
“One day I started learning about what conservatism is and things like that,” said Asghari on a chapter on Monday, January 27, Kate and Oliver Hudson‘S. “Delight in a brother or sister” podcast. “And that’s when I was like, ‘Wait a minute.’ I thought, ‘I’m in America, what do you mean someone has his basic man (rights)? What do you mean they need permission from their parents over the age of 18? ‘”
Asghari, who immigrated from Iran as a child, acknowledged that he was “new” to what the American legal system meant. However, he felt like he was not the only one who was just learning about Spears’ lack of freedom. (Spears, now 43, was placed under conservation by her father, Jamie SpearsIn 2008 following a series of personal battles. The legal agreement was terminated by judge in November 2021.)
“It’s so ridiculous in this country to have to deal with,” Asghari continued. “That was by far – I’m not going to say it’s difficult because I don’t think anything was difficult – but the strangest thing was to deal with it.”
The model added that one of the “hardest things” to deal with in the entertainment industry is to calculate the role your parents and loved ones play.
“Everything that happens and everyone who comes into your exploitation that harms you,” he meditated. “Because that’s the people closest to you.”
Asghari explained that while other stars might worry about how they will be treated by the fans or the media, it is typically not true as they are the ones who have helped you find success.
“(The fans) will never hurt you. Usually, (it is) the people around you, the people you allow into your inner circle, ”he remembered. “You are open to them and they have benefited because they think they are owed something to them – which is so ridiculous.”
When Spears and Asghari first dated after meeting on the set of her music video in 2016 for “Slumber Party,” she remembered having to be “careful” about the conservative issue since her love was only her boyfriend at the time. Asghari shared that his main aim was to show spears that he was there for her.
“I think the best thing you can do is provide support, and in that moment, that’s what I did. I provided support as much as I could, ”he explained, adding him to give her” information “and” resources “that he thought he could be” useful “in his situation. “(I did) try to understand properly… why the Conservatism even started to start,” he said. “This was my experience in life that I had to go through very lightly.”
Asghari noted that his “experience” came from an “other country” helped him as he stayed alongside Spears through the difficult moments in her life. After the pop star Conservation endedAsghari and Spears tied the knot in June 2022. However, the pair called it quitting in August 2023 after a year of marriage. Their divorce final in May 2024.
In spite of their relationship ending, Asghari is grateful for the memories they had and referred to their marriage As “an accident course in Hollywood.”
“We were in a relationship for nearly seven years, but it was so much we () went through as a couple,” he said. “We learned so much and it was a lovely experience.”
