Saka left the squad to face -in Andorra because of injury

Bukayo Saka has been out of the squad of England to face Andorra in its 2026 World Cup classification on Saturday.

Thres Lions, Lion Manager Thomas Tuchel, revealed on Friday that the Arsenal attack had only completed one complete training session during the training field of the squad in Girona this week and, therefore, would be absent from the game in Barcelona.

Saka suffered a blow to the last day of the Premier League season against Southampton, and it seems that the 23 -year -old will have to wait a little more to make his first appearance in England under Tuchel after losing the first German parties against Albania and Latvia in March.

“He (Saka) entered the camp with a little discomfort of the last game against Southampton, so we took care of him and treated him individually to this day basically,” said Tuchel.

“It was the first training session that started and ended with the group. Yesterday he started with the group, but he did not end the group, so let’s see.

“I am not sure if we risk tomorrow’s game. The decision has not been made, but it will be available for the Senegal party and plays an important role in our thoughts like building a competitive team.”

Tuchel was also full of praise for Saka, with the German main coach who achieved the personality and coherence of the striker.

“Until his last injury, he was more or less always available, always playable every three days,” said Tuchel.

“He had this consistency in his game and in his body, which made him very unique. He was decisive for England, he took responsibility, bounced after a kind of decisive and dramatic penalty.

“It is good to see that he has returned because he wanted to return, and immediately you see when he enters that he is comfortable to be with the squad, he knows what is needed to be a national player.”

Conor Gallagher has also been out of the playing day and is not clear in this phase if the absence of Atlético Madrid’s midfielder is the result of a fitness problem.

The news of Saka and Gallagher comes after the confirmation of the football association Friday that striker Ollie Watkins has taken off the squad due to injury.

“Ollie Watkins will not participate in the next games of England against Andorra and Senegal,” said the FA in a statement.

“Aston Villa striker has retired from the workforce as a precaution due to a minor injury. A workforce of 25 men will continue to prepare for the FIFA World Cup classification on Saturday 2026 at the RCDE Stadium in Barcelona.”
