In the 18th game of the SA20 2025 clash between Durban Super Giants i Pearl Royals, Heinrich Klaasen showed his goalkeeping brilliance to dismiss Joe Root for a golden duck.
On the fifth ball of the first over, Chris Woakes bowled a backhand delivery outside off that took shape late, tempting Root into an uncertain stroke. The England batsman, unable to resist the move, cut it hard but Klaasen’s quick reflexes ensured the breakthrough. Positioned slightly to his right, Klaasen made an outstanding catch in front of his face, showing exceptional hand-eye coordination and athleticism. The dismissal was crucial for the Super Giants as Root’s early exit derailed Royals’ plans to start the chase. Waakes’ accuracy, combined with Klaasen’s sharp glove work, created the perfect opening. Klaasen’s effort not only lifted his team’s spirits but also set the tone for the Super Giants’ bowling dominance.
