Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman a Blake Lively He will not be present at the 2025 Golden Globes.
Lively, 37, will sit out the annual awards ceremony on Sunday, January 5, amid her ongoing legal battle with her. It Ends With Us costar and director Justin Baldoni. But Lively isn’t the only one missing the event — her husband Reynolds, 48, and his Deadpool and Wolverine Jackman’s costar will not be attending the Golden Globes this year either.
Back Closing date‘Lively, Reynolds and Jackman made their decisions not to attend the award ceremony on Sunday long before the It Ends With Us legal battle, and their respective absences from the ceremony are unrelated to the ongoing scandal.
It is likely that there will be no mention of It Ends With Us at the awards show this weekend, either. Comedian Nikki Glaserwho has been tapped to host the Golden Globes this year, has already made it clear that she won’t be making any jokes about the Lively-Baldoni’s “hot button” issue on Sunday.
“I think the Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni thing is such a hot button thing right now that even just mentioning it makes it seem like we could be on the wrong side of things, even though we never would be, ” Glaser, 40 , told Yahoo! Entertainment on Thursday, January 2. “I also don’t want to give his name any (weight).”
He added, “I’m mad that I even know his name, to be honest with you, so I don’t need to say it anymore.”
Lively filed legal action against Baldoni40, in December 2024, accusing him of sexual harassment and fostering a “hostile work environment” on the set of It Ends With Usfilm adaptation of an author Colleen Hoover‘ a novel about domestic violence. (In addition to Baldoni, Lively is also suing publishers Melissa Nathan a Jennifer Abelas well as Wayfarer Studios.)
The actress’ complaint alleged that Baldoni had caused her “severe emotional distress” and had orchestrated an alleged “social manipulation” campaign to damage her reputation.
“I hope my legal action will help pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about wrongdoing and help protect others who may be targeted,” Lively told Us Weekly in a statement on 21 December.
Baldoni has Lively denied the accusations and filed a $250 million lawsuit against The New York Times for libel and false light invasion of privacy, and is said to be planning separately lawsuit against Lively as well.
“We intend to release every single text message between the two of them. We want the truth to be out there,” lawyer Baldoni Bryan Freedman told NBC News on Thursday. “We want the documents to be out there. We want people to make their decision based on receipts.”
