Rwanda Severs Ties with Belgium over Dr. Congo Conflict

Rwanda redorated diplomatic ties with Belgium, saying that the European nation was “consistently undermined” during a permanent conflict in the Congo Democratic Republic.

Brussels calls for European countries to authorize Ruda for the support of the M23, the rebel group in the center of the Doctor Congo crisis.

Authorities Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, gave Belgian diplomats for 48 hours to leave the country.

Belgium, which is the former colonial force, has stated that it would respond to these measures and indicate the Rwanda decision “disproportionate”.

Despite the claims of bodies such as the UN and the US, Rwanda denied M23 support.

In his statement on Monday, Kigali accused Brussels of trying to “support his non -colonial delusions”.

“Belgium has clearly taken the parties in the regional conflict and continues to systematically mobilize against Rwanda on different forums, using lies and manipulations to ensure unreasonable hostile opinion, trying to destabilize both Rudad and in the region,” the statement said.

Belgium Foreign Minister Maxim Prime responded to Rwand measures in social media, saying: “This is disproportionately and shows that if we do not agree with Rwanda, they prefer not to participate in the dialogue.”

Prevot said Rundan diplomats in Belgium will be announced “Persona Non Grata”.

This declaration can lead to the removal of diplomatic status and often leads to the expulsion or cancellation of the recognition of the messengers.
