Six months ago, Berlanga was the headline in a unified world combat of heavy super-gaps that took place in Las Vegas, Nevada. Unfortunately for Berlanga he lost his record without problems. She is now ready to bounce showing her talent on Saturday night.

The 27 -year -old Brooklyn, New York’s native, Edgar Berlanga, began his career in an impressive way, as he published 16 consecutive wins of the first round. During his next five fights, Berlanga seemed average while collecting five wins by decision.

Berlanga would continue to make a drastic career movement, as he signed a multi-lluite agreement with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing. A year later, on the night of February 24, 2024, in his second struggle with Matchroom, Berlanga finished his four -year drought when he faced the Irish boxer Padraig McCrory.

With 25 seconds to go to the sixth round, Berlanga landed a loop on the right that sent McCrory to the canvas. McCrory was trying to lift -but before he could fight at his feet, his Cornerman decided to throw his towel.

Following his halted victory, Berlanga disembarked his dream struggle, as he faced the Wbo, WBA, WBC, World Super-Tea Champion, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. Canelo dropped Berlanga in the 3rd, but Berlanga was able to recover and survive the rest of the round.

Berlanga maintained the competitive struggle, but at the conclusion of the 12 -round contest, the defense champion Canelo Alvarez won for a unanimous decision. Now Edgar Berlanga (22-1, 17 kos) is willing to work his way again in a mandatory containment, as he has to take a hard unbeaten rival.

A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Jonathan Gonzalez-Oriz is a pressure fighter who has a good placement of punches and is used to overwhelming his opponents with his work rate. Gonzalez-Ortiz, 35, had two fights by 2024, but before that, the last time he competed within the ring was 2014.

The ten years of dismissal of Gonzalez-Ortiz and the low level of competition that is facing, are the two main reasons why some are skeptical of this competitive struggle. However, Edgar Berlanga is not underestimating his opponent because he believes that on Saturday night he will be involved in a fire.

“I am not overlooking this man, he will win,” said Berlanga. “It’s Porto -Rican and Has this blood we carry, Rauch in him. So I know he will come to fight. I know he is not going to run around the ring trying to survive. He will go out there and try to show a point.”

Austin “AMMO” Williams vs Patrice Volny is the headline, but the Co-Main is a very intriguing match. Berlanga, coming out of the great struggle with Canelo, Berlanga weighed his next fight at 1.6 pounds over the surface limit of 168.

That said, will the lack of focus and discipline of Berlanga open the doors of the opportunity for a nuisance by Gonzalez-Ortiz, or will Berlanga show that it is at a different level and will receive a routine victory?
