Rory McIlroyA victory in the Irish Open Championship turned into a family -friendly family relationship.
Defeat McIlroy, 36 Joakim Lagergren On the third play hole at the K Club in Kildare, Ireland on Sunday, September 7, about 120 miles south of the golf hometown in Holywood.
After securing the victory-which came after McIlroy sank an eagle punch 27 feet on the 18th hole to force his wife’s playoff with the golfer, Erica stolland their 5 -year -old daughter, Poppy.
“I feel so fortunate to do this, I can do this in front of these people,” McIlroy said after the tournament. “The support has been absolutely amazing all week.”
He added, “This is absolutely amazing. I love coming home. I love playing in this atmosphere. Yes, these are – moments like this, these are the things you are going to remember long after your career ends. This is a very special day.”
McIlroy also thanked the fans of his hometown for their loyalty on social media.
“Winning my national open championship in front of these fans was absolutely incredible,” shared McIlroy By x on Sunday. “I love coming home, I love playing in this atmosphere and I will never take it for granted. Forever grateful for the support.”

Stoll and Poppy were on hand to finally see McIlroy fulfilling the glory of Master earlier this year, but had remained out of the magnifying glass since then.
McIlroy and Stoll married in April 2017. The golfer Filed for a divorce from Stoll in May 2024 before calling it off the following month.
At the US Open Championship in June, McIlroy admitted it is often difficult to balance his professional life with his personal.
“I feel like I live two different lives,” McIlroy told reporters. “I’m a dad and a husband when I’m away from here, and then I’m who I am when I’m here. It’s always nice to escape and feel a little normality. ”
During her time away from the golf world, Stoll has been busy moving the family in their new mansion in Wentworth, England.
“We came back a few weeks ago and moved to our new home in Wentworth and we’ve been trying to settle in,” McIlroy told the reporters of the former Scottish Genesis Open in July. “It’s amazing what two weeks of a little disconnect can do for you.”
