The WBA has officially raised Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero de ‘Regular’ to the full heavy weight champion after Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis who overflowed his 147 LB title to 154.
It is not a surprise that Rolly (17-2, 13 kos). The movement was expected to take place as soon as Ennis revealed that it moved to a half junior weight. Hardcore fans will be more concerned that Romero’s news is raised to WBA’s full champion than casuals. It’s not a big problem. Ennis was forced to climb because he was fighting for weight.
There is no real difference between Romero that is common of the full champion. The same fights are at your disposal and is still seen as one of the two minor champions in 147. He had always said that he wanted these two fighters:
Rolly will not change his mind now that he has been elevated to the full WBA champion. Has focused more on money instead of fighting the best. Fans would like to see Brian Norman Jr., Romero champion, is unlikely to never do it because it is too good.
Romero does not fit the tag “Paper champion” Completely, but it is very close. It is only champion in the name. The way he won the WBA regular belt was not against a good enough opponent to make him a real champion. Is what is known as a “Email champion”.
Rolly won the WBA 147 pounds title by beat Ryan Garcia, who had never fought Welterweight. Lack of victory against a weight fighter hurts Rolando’s credibility
Some fans believe that Ryan is hitting to lose Romero, because he would now be elevated to the full champion of the WBA in 147. That would be more respectful. Garcia has already said that belts are not important to him. You just want to make the best fights.
