Australian legend Steve Wough opened the future of Indian captain Rohit Sharma ahead of the next series of testing against England in June. The world cup winner said that Rohit should look in the mirror and ask if he still promises to lead and represent the Indian team.

Rohit Sharma has experienced maximum and lows last year. He brought India to victory in two ICC tournaments: the 2024 T20 World Cup and the 2025 Champions Trophy. Rohit Sharma opted for the fifth test of the BGT 2024-25 series

“There is stress in the test cricket, either to survive because we need it as a sport. The T20 cricket is incredible, ideal for players and spectators and excellent for sponsors, but I still think that the test cricket is the very essence of the cricket.”

“I think players still want to play tests to see how good they can really be. It is the final contest. Ensure that it survives and thrives and is healthy is really important,” explained Waugh.
