The Indian team for the Champions Trophy 2025 finally comes out with some notable inclusions in the team like now Yashasvi Jaiswalearning his first call-up for the Indian team in the ODI format, Arshdeep Singh to be picked once again for India in white-ball cricket, and Kuldeep Yadav is in the squads after being sidelined with a groin injury.
However, while there are many surprising inclusions, some players have not been given a place in the squad. The most prominent among these players is the star of India Mohammed Siraj who has been dropped from the Indian team after India’s Test series defeat Australia.

Indian Pattern Rohit Sharma hinted at Siraj’s lack of effectiveness at the press conference announcing the Indian squad for Champions Trophy 2025. Siraj was a point of contention as the media continued to question the reason for the non-inclusion of Siraj in the Indian team.
“Mohammad Siraj is not effective and his effectiveness decreases when the ball gets big,” When asked about Siraj, Rohit said that he pointed to his lack of effectiveness as the main reason for Siraj’s exit from the Indian team.

Another key reason for Siraj’s exclusion from the Indian squad is the selection of several players who are selected exclusively for the ODI format. Arshdeep Singh, who has consistently put in impressive performances in white-ball cricket, has earned his place in the squad. Also, the Indian team management has opted to strengthen the spin department with the inclusion of Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel i Washington Sundar. This strategic decision has led to the inclusion of only three traditional pacers in the squad.
