Indian national cricket team captain Rohit Sharma is all set to lead the team in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. As per RevSportz reports, it is learned that there will be no change in the captaincy of the white ball of the team, especially in the big tournament.
Rohit Sharma has come under massive scrutiny after failing in Test cricket. The Indian national cricket team skipper was dropped from the playing eleven in the ongoing fifth match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, which is taking place at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney.
Rohit was replaced by Shubman Gill in the XI and the captaincy was given to Jasprit Bumrah. This has led to many speculations that the Indian national cricket team’s skipper’s run in the longest format of the game is over and there will be a new leader in the team.
Talks even turned to Rohit Sharma’s future in ODIs as well, especially with his poor form with the bat. Some reports claimed that the senior opener might not captain the side in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, and a new skipper will take over.
It was learned that if Rohit Sharma’s leadership came under scrutiny, there are chances of Hardik Pandya taking over as ODI captain. This became the main talk of the town, especially after his Test XI upset over the ongoing match.
But RevSportz confirmed that Rohit will lead the team in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Indian national cricket team skipper has been an excellent leader in white-ball cricket as he has had a great success in both ODIs and T20Is.
Rohit Sharma will captain the team in the Champions Trophy no doubt

Rohit ended India’s ICC title drought and led the team to victory in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Also, it was under his leadership that the team reached to the finals of the 2023 ICC World Cup without losing a single match in the league stage. as well as the semi-final against New Zealand.
Rohit, with his selfless approach, has changed the dynamics of the way the Indian national cricket team has been playing the game. He has led from the front and shown his team how to play. Although he has struggled in Tests of late, he is a completely different batsman when it comes to ODIs.
Rohit is currently the No. 2 ranked batsman in the ICC ODI rankings. The batsman would hope to answer all the criticism in what will be a big white-ball season. He would like to replicate what he did in the T20 World Cup last year and help the team win the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
