Former Cricket National Equip of India and President of the Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI), Roger Binny, can block Rajeev Shukla’s possession.
Roger Binny, 70, could continue in the role of Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI) until the age of 75 if a great condition is fulfilled.
Roger Binny, winner of the 1983 World Cup, was appointed President of BCCI in October 2022, replacing Sourav Ganguly.

It turned 70 on July 19, 2025, and there was uncertainty about its continuation on the paper due to the age limit specified in the BCCI Constitution.
Above all, any bearer who turns 70 is disqualified to hold the post, according to the Constitution approved by the Supreme Court.
This led to BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla, and will be promoted as president, at least temporarily.
The BCCI annual general meeting (AGM) is scheduled for September and last month, Roger Binny could continue with a caregiver capacity until the meeting was held.
According to PTI’s latest report, the National Sports Bill that was approved in Parliament on Tuesday could help Roger Binny continue as President of BCCI until 75.
However, this will only happen when the members of the BCCI state unit give him green light. Above all, 75 have been established as the cutting age for the office carriers of the national sports federations, whose global bodies have no specifically mentioned age clause, such as the ICC.
In addition, the BCCI legal team is going through the National Sports Bill, although it will have no significant impact on the Board because it does not take advantage of government aid.
“Roger will continue until the Board meeting in September. If you will get a new term it depends on what the members and other powerful people associated with the BCCI decide,” a source of the Council said in PTI on anonymous conditions.
“The National Sports Bill has just passed, so we have time to study it and participate in a proper discussion before making a decision,” said the source.
“There are other points to discuss in the bill safely, and all stakeholders, including senior players and technical staff, will be consulted, especially since the Cricket will be played at the 2028 Olympic Games,” he added.
