Previously, the young conservationist took part in the Earth Award ceremony in Singapore and had been an ardent advocate for the initiative since its inception.
“The Earth Award is a torch of hope for all of us who are concerned about the environment and about our ability to secure the future of living for ourselves and future generations,” Irwin said in a statement at the time. “Oceans, ecosystems and healthy species are equal to a healthy planet, and the Earth Award recognizes the importance of investing in these solutions and helping them that protect these critical resources.”
