Coach Robert Garcia says Terence Crawford coach Brian ‘Bomac’ McIntyre made the right decision to reject a fight with David Benavidez for his fighter. He claims that it would be a bad way for Crawford (42-0, 31 kos) to finish his career.
Robert recommends that Crawford fight with a resale with Canelo Alvarez if he is offered or moved to 160 to go after the world titles in this division. He does not want to defend Crawford his indisputable title of Pweight supermids against contestants.
Garcia also says a fight with Christian Mbilli would not be a good fight for Crawford “Dangerous” And it has an elevated exit. He suggests not to fight with Mbilli.
Basically, he is making it clear that what Terence got last Saturday to beat the so -called best fighter in the 168 -pound division, Canelo Alvarez, was not real. He is just a guy who rounded out most of his titles years ago against fighters who are not as talented as the super -weighing contestants who are ranked at the top or near the division.
As Canelo won its 168 pound titles:
“Nor would I. There’s no way,” said coach Robert Garcia Fight Hub TVReaving Terence Crawford coach Brian ‘Bomac’, Mcintyre, rejecting a fight with David Benavidez on his behalf. “Crawford has just had one of the biggest victories in history. You don’t need to get out of there and risk -it’s too big, too strong.”
It’s not just that Benavidez is too big. It is its high work rate, hand speed and hardness. It could be shorter than Crawford, and it would still be too much for him. She is fearful, Youg, and would continue to attack Crawford, forcing him to run or fight. He is not able to be able to adapt to the work rate of Benavidez at the age of 38. So it would be forced to run and it would not be fun to see fans.
“We don’t want a champion to do so much and finish his career with a bad fight he should not take. It’s not good for Terence. Mbilli is a dangerous struggle for Crawford. He throws many punches,” Garcia said.
Mbilli would be a terrible struggle for Crawford because he would go through his shots to bury him with combinations. Lester Martinez made a lot of punishment in his tie at 12 rounds against Mbilli last Saturday night, and I think he would have lost if he had not pushed him all night. Without this movement, which was essentially illegal due to the frequency, it would have been overwhelmed by Mbilli’s punch.
Crawford would end up moving all night and you can only imagine the amount of abandonment of the fans.
