Riley gaines Defense calls Simone Biles‘History of Sexual Abuse in the hands of former USA and a guilty child predator Larry Nassar in their debate about the inclusion of trans athletes in sport.
Gaines appeared, “Stephen A. Smith Show” A podcast on Tuesday, June 10, where Smith, 57, asked former Kentucky University -boggler who had “any repentance” for Nassar’s rearing during her back and on with Biles, 28, on social media last week.
“I stand back what I said one hundred percent,” said Gaines. “But let me provide a little inex.
In 2016, Nassar was arrested and accused of possessing children’s pornography, of which he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 60 years. Nassar was also accused of several counts of criminal sexual misconduct, including two charges involving women aged 13 to 15 and one with a child under 13. He promised guilty and was sentenced to 4o to 175 in prison.
In the midst of the charges and subsequent trial, more than 60 women gave the impact statements of victims and accused more than 260 the disgraceful instructor of sexual abuse. In 2018, Biles came on as a Nassar victim.
Biles testified before the US Parliament in 2021 alongside the fellow US team -team Aly Raisman. Maggie Nichols and McKayla Maroneyclaiming that the FBI had boted the investigation into Nassar and, as a result, allowed the abuse to continue.
GAINES, which now works as a contributor for Overpower. Posted a video of Biles’ evidence via x On Friday, June 6, writes: “Simone Biles when she had to suffer a predatory man vs Simone Biles when other women have to suffer predatory men,” trying to combine a sexual predator found guilty with young, high school cross -school athletes.
Gaines told Smith that she used her own personal experience I can talk to “as the reason for the attempt to compare.
“Does it become more perverted than standing in the shower, not completely undressed, when a six -foot -four man approaches you, stands in the shower end next to you, undress himself completely naked and watch you shower?” Gaines argued. “That’s the context I was drawing. For me, that is sexual abuse. What I and my fellow players had to go through was sexual abuse for sure.”
He added, “For clarity, I think what Simone and her fellow players went through was condemnation and punishable beyond what we were facing. There is no doubt in my mind there.”

“No girl should have to go through this, whether it’s sexual violence, whether it’s unnecessary touching, whether her voyeurism is, whether it’s indecent manifestation, and no woman should ever be ashamed for ever distracting when men are abusing women,” argued Gaines.
Gaines tried to use her own experience appearing before the Parliamentary Judiciary Committee in June 2023 – where she discussed her experience swimming against her Lia ThomasThe first open female champion in the NCAA women’s division – as an added motivation to post the video of Biles talking about Nassar. (He tied Gaines and Thomas for 5th place in the race, although Thomas had the 5th place trophy to catch him in pictures.)
“She became emotional in her evidence, I did emotional in my evidence describing this,” said Gaines. “That’s the conclusion I was drawing here: Larry Nassar is easy to condemn, but I think it should be just as easily condemning those who are trying to normalize or think that it is not on a scale of gross sexual crime against women and women to get men undress and shower next to women.”
(Study have shown that trans people are more likely to suffer sexual and physical abuse than they are to be the perpetrator of abuse.)
Smith, who criticized Gaines for referring to Nassar on the episode on Monday, June 9, explained her podcast, why she refused to push back this time.
“You make a very, very valid point,” he told Gaines. “First of all, (it’s) your personal experience. Secondly, you are a woman. I am not. So when you talk about what is offensive to you, one of the things I have a problem with – especially with people on Capitol Hill – is when men try to tell women about their experiences.”
Retreat announced culpa mea on Tuesdayapologize to Gaines for making things “personal.” (In mail on Friday, Biles called on Caines to “bully someone your own size, which would be ironically a man.”)
“My opposition is to be singing children to scrutinize the public in ways that feel personal and harmful,” Biles wrote through X. “Individual athletes – especially children – should never be the focus of criticism of a deficient system that has no control over it. I believe that sports organizations have a responsibility to think of rules that support inclusion and respect in the future.” Want that. “
