‘Right hand up’: Ryan Garcia rubs salt in Haney’s wounds with social media post

Ryan Garcia posted a trolling photo on X of himself holding a boy who looked like Devin Haney. Garcia said her “son” asked Santa to teach him to keep his “right hand up.” The image appears to be AI generated, but the resemblance to Haney is too close.

Haney and Garcia have been at odds since last April. Devin is still bitter about his loss, while Ryan is unhappy with the way the New York State Athletic Commission stripped him of the win after he tested positive for a banned substance.

The Feud Fuels On

That’s Ryan’s way of taunting Haney (31-0, 15 KOs), who didn’t keep his right hand up to block his powerful left hook, which he used to drop him three times in his fight on April 20.

Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) couldn’t miss with his left hook and had Devin looking clueless, unable to stop that weapon. Devin lost the fight by a 12-round majority decision and has not been seen in the ring since. This loss took the air out of Haney’s career, and it remains to be seen if he can ever come back.

Bill Haney has been trashed non-stop since Devin’s loss to Garcia, and he’s kept the trash bitter all this time. Devin has mostly been in the background, training and keeping a low profile as usual.

It looks like he’s moved on and is preparing for what’s to come when he returns to the ring in 2025. If it’s Garcia, he’ll be ready, but he might not be. Bill could be useful if he makes peace with Ryan, drops his lawsuit, and focuses on the greater good, setting up a rematch for Devin.
