Many people in the Italian city of Naples spent the night in the streets and in their cars after the earthquake, which shook the buildings and brought rubble.
Italian seismologists stated that on Thursday (00:25 GMT) at a small depth of three kilometers (00:25 GMT) struck at 1:25 local time (00:25 GMT). The US Geological Service measured this as 4.2 tremors with a depth of 10 km.
The power supply in Naples was broken.
In the nearby city of Posuoli, near the epicenter of the earthquake, one wounded man was pulled out of the rubble of a partially destroyed home.
Naples sits in the Flegrai fields, a volcanic pool that makes the territory in southern Italy prone to earthquakes.
The earthquake on Thursday felt in several parts of the company, Italian media reports.
After the tremor, at least two weak jolts moved.
People were noticed as they left the houses and gathering on the streets of Naples, fearing more jolts.
Later, photos showing one damaged house and a car with broken wind glass.
A Coordination Center was set up to assess the damage.
Schools in Posuoli and the two nearby neighborhoods will be closed on Thursday, so there may be inspections of construction stability, according to Corriere Della Sera.
