Rescuers are looking for American climatic journalist Alec Luna, who disappeared during a hike to the glacier in the Folgefon National Park in South Western Norway.
According to his wife Veronica Silchenko, Lun, who worked in several information sales, including the BBC, went on a hike from the city of Oda -Ode.
On Monday, he did not appear in the return flight to pick it up, causing her to call the authorities.
Rescue operations continue, although officials say they are hindered by poor weather, which prevents helicopters by flying patrols.
Rescue crews use dogs and drones to search, reports The New York Times, citing a press secretary of the Norwegian Red Cross Ingebarg Thorsland.
His wife said he was experienced outdoors, which previously laid in bad weather.
“Alec is mostly obsessed with Arctic,” said Ms Silchenko, CBS News reports, US BBC partner.
“He loves glaciers and snow, and he loves researchers,” she said, adding that, as a climatic journalist, he tries to visit glaciers that are rapidly shrinking from climate change.
“He is trying to do his best to go to the coldest countries,” she said.
The 38 -year -old Mr. Lun is in London, but recently lives in Moscow and Istanbul, CNN reports.
Previously, he reported numerous outlets, including Atlantic, National Geographic, The New York Times, Scientific American, Time Magazine and CBS.
Last year, he wrote for BBC about Zombies’ fires in Canada, which burn all year round and are believed to grow more common.
