Rescuers in Indonesia are looking for a Brazilian tourist who fell during a hike near Harry Rinjani’s crater, an active volcano.
The Brazilian media and the woman’s family defined her as 26-year-old Julian Marins, who went on a hike with a group when on Saturday disappeared at about 6:30 local time.
The Brazilian authorities said she had fallen from a “rock that surrounds a trail next to Krater Volcano.”
Attempts to search and rescue have been unsuccessful from the extraordinary area and foggy weather, the Indonesian authorities have reports.
Park authorities Mount Rindjani said in a social media report that the rescuers had heard Ms Marins’ shouts on Saturday. At the time when she was safe, though she seemed shocked, they said.
Drunkeys and other clips shot on the Internet and are transferred to Brazilian media show that it is alive on Saturday. She was seen as sitting and moving on gray soil, far below the hike.
But later, on this day, rescuers could not find her when they went down 300 m (984 feet) where they believed she was, and she replied when calling her.
By the morning of Sunday, the drones showed that it was no longer in its place, the park’s authorities said, which added that the thick fog prevented the salvation and influenced the use of thermal drone.
On Monday, rescuers were able to find Ms. Marins again, who seemed to fall even further, but had to stop work from the “climatic conditions”, the family reports.
Rescuers “advanced only 250 million down, they had 350 million to get to Juliana, but they retreated,” the family said on their social media account.
The family also claimed that the park remained open and that tourists still went on one route, “while Juliana needs help! We do not know that her health! It has no water, food and warm clothes for three days!”
The BBC contacted the family of Mrs. Marins and the authorities of the park Mount Rinjani.
In an interview with the Brazilian television network, Globo two members of Ms. Marins described the hike as difficult.
One said the rise was “really solid” and “it was so cold, it was really, very harsh.”
The other said that during the accident, Ms. Marins was in the back of the hikes in the group with her leadership. “It was really early, before sunrise, in bad visibility with simple lanterns to illuminate the terrain that was complicated and slippery,” he said.
A statement from the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that it is supported by the Indonesian government and sent two embassy staff to control rescue efforts.
Satevan Pudiathmok, an official from the Indonesian Forestry Ministry, said on Monday that climbers should prioritize their security during hikes.
In 2022, the Portuguese man died after the rock drop on the top of Mount Rinjani. In May this year, the Malaysian tourist died after the fall, climbing the volcano.
With a height of more than 3700 m, Harry Rinjani is the second highest Indonesia volcano and a popular place for tourists.
