The rescue officials in Canada are working on a free three miners who are trapped underground in Northern British Colombia after the mine collapsed.
The trio worked at the Red Chris mine on the territory of the Nation Talton, 260 miles (420 km) west of Fort -Nelson.
“There was an accident,” said British Colombia Prime Minister David Abby on Wednesday. “There are three miners who are currently trapped underground. They, as far as we know, are also intact in the shelter.”
The land area in the mine fell apart near the district, in which the group worked, the statement said that the Mine Newmont Corp operator.
The miners – two of whom from British Colombia and one of Ontario – were able to move to a sealed area underground before the second collapse even more blocked their movement, News said.
The operator stated that in the area where they moved, the asylum station was included, which had proper food, water and ventilation to “maintain an extended stay”.
“At the time of the initial incident, three business partner employees worked more than 500 meters outside the affected area and asked to move to the designated shelter before the next drop of land blocked the access path,” Newman added.
Since the second collapse, there has been limited communication, so there is an “excerpt of operations” at the mine, the company reports.
Mine, in which three are trapped, is a copper and gold mine, which was built in 2014.
