Liverpool lost the opportunity to stretch leadership at the top of the Premier League at 14 points, as three goals in the 14-minute space gave Fulham a 3-2 victory in Craven Cottage.
The Reds knew that everyone could seal the title with the victory after the 1-1 tie of Arsenal in Everton on Saturday, and took a 14-minute lead through Alexis Macallister.
But Fulham’s response to punishing a random Liverpool defense was magnificent, Ryan Sessegnon’s smart end followed by Alex Iwobi’s deviated effort and a sublime individual goal by Rodrigo Muniz.
Luis Diaz retired for Liverpool with 18 minutes, but Arne Slot’s side could not find Igualada as Fulham won a well -deserved victory that increases his hopes for European football.
Liverpool’s advantage over Arsenal is still 11 very impressive points that will almost certainly be too much to overcome, but what they expected to succeed in the title march right now resemble a stumbling on the line.

The hosts were unfortunate that they did not receive a penalty from soon after a shameless play from the Liverpool Ombudsman, Ibrahima Konate.
Andreas Pereira left the ball by Rodrigo Muniz after Konate was dispossessed, but Muniz did not give the opportunity to become an unprotected network after Virgil Van Dijk and Caoimhin Kelle Fossin.
Var checked the incidents, but did not be awarded that he had failed, the Van Dijk collision seemingly accidental, and Liverpool made the most of this frame when Macallister won a second ball in the midfield and pushed a unit beyond Bernd Leno in a fine style.
But Liverpool remained vulnerable to the back and had an answer, as Ryan Sessegnon found the lower corner-right with a strike for the first time after visitors could not have been treated. The cross on the right of Pereira.
They completed the change during a nightmare sequence for Andy Robertson, who began when Alex Iwobi intercepted the risk field pass from the Ombudsman.
Iwobi’s initial effort was blocked, but Robertson lost an aerial duel with Pereira, allowing Iwobi a second chance to get the goal and beat Kelleher with a strike that was diverted to Robertson.
Liverpool soon worsened courtesy of Muniz’s brightness, which he used his physical to keep Vanjk on bay with his back on the goal before throwing the ball over the Dutch head and shooting on Kelleher’s legs.
Liverpool was better after the break, Diogo Jota denied Leno and Mohamed Salah to a great deal of invisible, but it was Diaz who gave them hope when he stabbed the house of the dismissal of Conor Bradley.
Harvey Elliott then broke the crossbar with a curling effort and then tasted Leno after Federico Chiesa had done the same, but Liverpool finished the weekend in the rare position of his slightly transferred to the degree race.
