Reba Mcentire‘S. son, Shelby Blackstockpays tribute to his half -brother Brandon Blackstock.
“Words cannot begin to catch the tremendous loss our family has suffered. Yesterday, we lost brother, father, grandfather and son,” wrote Shelby, 35, through Instagram On Friday, August 8.
In a collage of photos, Shelby shared happy memories with his half -brother, including moments of various family festivals.
“He taught me so much, leaving dear memories that I will hold on to forever,” Shelby continued. “For every valuable moment we shared, there is so much more than we will ever do together, but I know you will still be there. Every hunt, every flight, and every day’s moments of life, feel your presence.”

On Thursday, August 7, Weekly US confirmed that Brandon died After a private battle with cancer. It was 48.
“With great sadness we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has died. Brandon has bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He died peacefully and was surrounded by a family,” a family representative said in a statement to Us. “We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family privacy during this very difficult time.”
As the Brandon family continues to mourn, Shelby promises to make new memories while also forgetting the happy times he shared them with his half -brother.
“While it might annoy you, you’ll have to watch me to make it all a little better, a little smoother, and – let’s be honest – looking much more handsome than you could ever in the 😏 process,” he wrote through Instagram. “We will always miss you, Brandon, and we will never stop loving, remembering and celebrating.”
Shelby is the son of Mcentire, 70, and Narvel BlackstockWhile Brandon was the son of Narvel and his first wife, Elisa Gayle Ritter.
Just five months before his death, Brandon Had the opportunity to reunite with Shelby alongside Mcentire and her boyfriend, Rex Linnat Rodeohouston in March.
