Real Madrid surpassed the league season with a 2-0 victory over Real Sociedad at Santiago Bernabeu, in a game that doubled as an emotional farewell to the legends of the Club Luka Modric and Carlo Angelotti.
Kylian Mbappe was the star of the show, and twice marked to seal the victory in a game dominated by the hosts.
Madrid enjoyed the Lion’s part of possession soon, with Guler and Valverde orchestrating many attacks in the midfield. MBAPPE had a couple of half a time denied to Remiro, while the best Society’s opening came when Sergio Gomez was played, just for Lunin to save himself.
The advance came in the 38th minute when Var awarded Madrid a penalty after a Marin handball.
MBAPPE’s initial effort was saved by Unal Marrero, but the Frenchman reacted faster to get the rebound at home, giving Madrid a well-deserved 1-0 to the half.
Society made a large number of replacements to try to find a return path, but control of Madrid’s possession continued. Ancelotti’s men had patience, with Valverde and Guler continuing to play for openings. Diaz fell injured and was replaced by Vinicius Junior, who immediately added more dynamism to the left flank of Madrid.

The second goal came in the 83rd minute, with Vinicius and Mbappe combining beautifully. Vinicius led to the defense of the Society before slipping a ball perfectly weighted on the path of MBAPPE. The Frenchman ended up in the nearby place, effectively killing the game.
Beyond the result, it was an emotional night for the faithful of Bernabeu. Lucas Vazquez and Luka Modric received permanent ovations when they were replaced in the final minutes.
Modric, in particular, was serene with the crowd and gave an honor for both teams, marking the end of an age for one of the largest midfielders in the club.
He was also the last game of Ancelotti before taking on the work of Brazil, and the legendary main coach also received his own special farewell after delivering many memories of two spells in Spain.
