The Chelsea has the opportunity to capture an impressive season claiming the conference league trophy in Wroclaw tomorrow night.
The Blues entered the season as an unknown amount after another summer of frantic transfer activity and the arrival of Enzo Maresca as their main coach.
But the Italian has done a good job to turn a large workforce in a cohesive unit that has worked well both nationally and in Europe.
They finished fourth at the Premier League, after being the challenges closest to Liverpool for most of the first half of the campaign, while they have been dirty in the conference league to establish a final confrontation with Real Betis.
The third European competition helped Maresca in the first months, as he offered him the opportunity to use members of his squad who did not play the Premier League.

This approach did not hinder Chelsea, as they did a lightweight work club work, such as Noah (an 8-0 victory) and Shamrock Rovers (5-1).
The knockout phase was also simple, bringing Chelsea to this: a final match with Betis and the possibility of making history.
Maresca said, “It would be a way of saying that we return and we are a winning club in Europe and we hope to get it.
“We would become the first club in Europe to win all the trophies (UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and the league league), this is important.”
Tomorrow he also brings together Maresca with the head of Betis, Manuel Pellegrini. Maresca played under the experienced chili in Malaga and served as a coach helping West Ham.
He told UEFA.com: “I see him as one of my professional figures in the football father. I am where I am today thanks to him. I worked with Manuel for four years, two years as a player and two years as part of his staff. So he owes him so much in terms of what I have achieved.
“I am grateful for the relationship we have and the advice he gives me. He told me that he never changed. He always said that often players and directors of football rushed to change -and he has always said that it is best to keep it always faithful to yourself.”
Pellegrini’s side finished sixth in the league after a bad way of a poor form of the end of the season in which Betis failed to win any of his last five games.
Despite their recent struggles, they have a talented template included by the former Madrid Madrid Madrid midfielder and the prestige of Manchester United Antony.
The resurgence of Brazilian in Seville has been remarkable, as his performances at Old Trafford. He has scored nine goals and provided two assists and, most importantly, he regained his belief in himself after a difficult time.
He told TNT Sports Brazil: “(coming to Betis) changed a lot because I needed to find -me, because of everything that happened in my personal life.
“As I said, I wanted to do things, but they did not seem to work because I was not happy, I did not feel this desire to play football, and I needed to find -and to be happy again because playing football was always something I loved.
“I had difficult times (at Manchester United) when I no longer heard that pleasure. I even always told my brother, I told him that I couldn’t take it anymore.”
