Deepak Chahar, who was with CSK from 2018 to 2024, was bought by the Mumbai (MI) Indians for the INR 9.25 Crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction. CSK attempted everything possible to react the pace of it all, but they failed.

Ambati Rayudu talks about Deepak Chahar and Mitchell Santner’s transfer to Mumbai Indians
Talking about spncricinfo ahead of CSK vs mi clash, Ambati Rayuduwho played at the two franchises, talked about changing the teams. He said he felt quite strange when he moved from Mumbai Indians to Chennai Super Kings.
Rayudu said that Deepak Chahar and Mitchell Santner, who moved from CSK to me, will also have this strange feeling, but clarified that both teams are quite welcoming. He made:
“It was very strange to me. The first day was quite difficult because the practice went to Wankhede. I had to go to the opposition dressing room.
