The former Indian player Ravichandran Ashwin spoke of a different perspective from the test captaincy and also launched a joker option for selectors.

Reports say that Shubman Gill is more likely to take care of the test captaincy after Rohit Sharma. But many former players continue to support Jasprit Bumrah to re -direct the side.
Ravichandran Ashwin agreed that Bumrah is very able to Gill, but his workload on tests is a major concern for appointing him as the next pattern.

“Let’s not forget, Jadja is the most experienced player on the team. He should be in the conversation. If you are willing to form a new boy for two years and then make him captain, he can do so for two years.
Ashwin wants selectors to give at least two years to Jadja to demonstrate their capabilities in the India test.
