Ravichandran Ashwin breaks his silence on alleged taunting of Rohit Sharma after India’s defeat against Australia at MCG Test



The ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy has been a rollercoaster of surprises and thrillers both on and off the field. Adding fuel to the fire of controversies, Ravichandran Ashwin has set social media abuzz with a controversial post that many believe is a veiled dig at the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma.

The off-spinner who recently retired from international cricket after the third Test match in Brisbane posted on X as India struggled to get out on the final day of the Boxing Day Test.

“Good leaders emerge when they show determination for a scrap” Ashwin wrote to X. The post went viral on social media with Indian fans speculating that Ashwin’s post was a mockery of the type of captain Rohit has been in the series. The post got a lot of attention on social media.

Ashwin’s clarification on the alleged taunt

Amid widespread speculation and alleged rift between Ashwin and Rohit, the former Indian spinner gave a clarification in a separate post and tried to put an end to the gossip. India were eclipsed by a determined Australia at the MCG

Day 5 of the Boxing Day Test match did not end well for the Indian fans. After the early dismissal of the last Australian wicket, India had to chase down a total of 340 runs to win the match. In reply, India’s second innings did not get off to the desired start after skipper Rohit i KL Rahulearly dismissals.
