With World Test Championship (WTC) End between Australia and South -Africa Approaching -Cricket Pundits are blocked in the debate about the team’s teams. One of those voices, respected and known for his analytical vision, is the former leading coach of India Ravi Shastriwho recently shared his thoughts on how Australia should shape his line of bowling for high pressure shock at Lord’s.
Speaking at the ICC Review, Shastri emphasized the importance of horses for the courses, and in this case he supported the star Aussie Pacer for a place in the XI game for the long -awaited clash of the summit.
Shastri supported Josh Hazlewood To be chosen in interpretation XI, whenever appropriate, highlighting two key factors: the suitability of the English conditions and the unique slope of Lord’s. Makes a comparison between Hazlewood and the legendary Australian Pealer Glenn McGrathParticularly noteworthy how McGrath thrown his ability to use the slope effectively from the end of the comments. When suggesting, Shastri highlights the style of bowling like McGrath by Hazlewood, exact, disciplined and ideal for exploiting these conditions, making it a valuable asset in this enclosure.
“If Hazlewood is suitable for doing it, he will definitely get his head for two reasons. One, English conditions, two, Lord’s with the Slope. And the reason I say the slope of Lord is that Hazlewood looks like Glenn McGrath. Shastri said.
Shastri emphasized that Hazlewood’s height allows him to replicate McGrath’s effectiveness, especially under slow English conditions. He said that, unlike Australian launches, the surfaces of England require the bowls to extract the rebound through height, which has Hazlewood.
“I think Hazlewood can do something similar to his height. The releases are not as fast as in Australia. So you need this height and bounce more, he will get” added the old Indian cricketter.

Shastri suggested that if the pitch has enough grass and offers favorable conditions for sewing bowling, the ideal strategy would be to include the four seams in the XI game. The presence of grass normally indicates the movement out of the surface, which benefits fast bowls and Shastri considered that in such a scenario, maximizing the rhythm attack would be the best tactical approach.
“Ideally, you want to play all four (seams) if you have half a chance and if there is a little more grass on the surface.” Shastri concluded.
