Ranieri wins the Rome derby again, while Cagliari also triumphs in the Serie A results


Roma opened a 15-point gap over arch-rivals Lazio at the start of the game to move on Claudio Ranieri’s perfect record in the Rome derby in his third spell as coach of the Giallorossi on Sunday.

The result extended Roma’s unbeaten run to four games in all competitions and ended their rivals’ three-match winning streak at home.

Monza hosted Cagliari, Genoa visited Lecce and Parma traveled to Turin in the other Serie A games to take place.

Roma vs Lazio: Derby of the capital

Lorenzo Pellegrini scored a classy opener to cap off a fine team performance after 10 minutes at the Stadio Olimpico, with Alexis Saelemaekers firing home eight minutes later to give Roma a 2-0 lead.

Striker Valentin Castellanos was sent off in added time for fourth-placed Lazio, who are three points above Juventus on an inferior goal difference. Roma rose to 10th placetwo points behind Udinese.

Torino vs Parma: Stalemate in Turin

Four points above the relegation zone, Torino have gone five games without a win at home and more than five hours without a goal on their home turf after drawing 0-0 with Parma, although Che Adams would have put him in front if his header. Zion Suzuki has not left out.

Parma, who are two points off the bottom three, conceded a goal from Matteo Cancellieri for offside and hit the woodwork through Valentin Mihaila.

Monza vs Cagliari: Small goals seal victory away from home

Cagliari came from behind to climb out of the relegation zone on goal difference with a 2-1 win at Monza, who are below and seven points from safety.

After Mattia Felici volleyed against the woodwork inside two minutes for the visitors, Gianluca Caprari opened the scoring with a penalty.

Nadir Zortea equalized from distance and Roberto Piccoli scored the winner 11 minutes after the break, with Danilo D’Ambrosio sent off for Monza seven minutes later.

Lecce vs Genoa: Carpentry saves both teams

Nikola Krstovic hit the post from distance as third-bottom Lecce threatened to open the scoring on their way to their first point in three games.

Morten Thorsby and Andrea Pinamonti also hit the woodwork for Genoa before the break in the 0-0 draw, which leaves Il Grifone three points above the relegation zone.
