The IPL stated in a media statement, “Rajasthan Royals (RR) has appointed LHUAN-DR Pretorius as a replacement for Nitish Rana, who has been governed in the rest of the Premier Indian League (IPL) 2025 due to injuries. In the meantime, Rajasthan Royals has also confirmed that Nitish Rana has been ruled out of the rest of the season. The franchise said that Rana is currently cured of a calf injury, due to which he could not participate in the remaining two matches at the current 2025 IPL.

Above all, Rana has played 11 games for the RR in the IPL 2025 and scored 217 runs with the highest score from 81 to an average of 21.70 and a strike rate of 161.94. The ninth place Royals had a forgotten season, winning only three of its twelve games so far at the current tournament.

Now, RR is only two games this season: the second against Chennai Super Kings on May 12 at the Ma Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and the last game of this season against the Punjab Kings on May 16 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
