Former New Zealand, Simon Doull recently performed the popular “This or That” Challenge to choose the best captain of the IPL 2025 so far. The commentator chose Captain Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the Captain Rajat Patidar on Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) MS Dhoni and the Mumbai (MI) Skipper Hardik Pandya Indians.
The Indian Premier League started with a game between the champions defending Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru on March 22. Fans have witnessed some exciting games so far. The most successful equipment like Chennai, Mumbai and KKR are currently in the lower half of the table.
In a video shared by Cricbuzz in X (formerly known as Twitter), Simon Doull had several names of cricketers thrown to him, starting with Hardik Pandya and Risaby Pant. Doull did not hesitate to choose Hardik as the best IPL captain of this year’s tournament.
However, the starter turned into a cricket went to look for skateboard over the pattern of the Mumbai Indians. Doull chose skateboard on Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ms. Dhoni. However, he chose Ajinkya Rahane on patient.

Former Quick Bolquer resigned to Rahane when the name of Axar Patel appeared. He went on to choose to take over the Captains Shubman Gill, Pat Cummins and Sanju Samson. When asked to choose between Axar and Shreyas Iyer, Doull paused for a couple of seconds and then chose the Delhi Capitals pattern (DC).
Axar is currently leading Delhi’s capitals in the current season. The left arm spinner guided the team to four straight wins before suffering a loss to Mumbai Indians in their most recent game. They are currently second on the table with eight points and a net execution rate (NRR) of +0.899.
Rajat Patidar took over as captain of Royal Challengers Bengaluru ahead of the IPL 2025. Under his leadership, the team has begun strongly in the season. With four wins in six games, RCB is currently third in the point table with 8 points and a net execution rate of +0.67.
They have struggled at home, losing both games with Gujarat Titans and Delhi capitals. However, they have been exceptional away from home. RCB has won four consecutive games, including victories on Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals.
The team led by Rajat Patidar will assume the Punjab Kings, led by Shreyas Iyer, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday, April 18. They are likely to be ranked in the playoffs, but a first two end will depend on the winning impulse.
