In an official statement, Rajasthan Royals stated that Rahul Dravid will conclude his term with the franchise ahead of the IPL 2026.
RR also revealed that Dravid was offered a “wider position” in the franchise, but he refused to assume this role.
“Rajasthan Royals has announced today that the main coach Rahul Dravid will conclude his term with the franchise in front of the IPL 2026.
“Rahul has been essential on the Royals’ trip for many years. His leadership has influenced a generation of players, created strong values within the squad and left an indelible brand in the culture of the franchise.
“As part of the structural review of the franchise, Rahul had offered a wider position in the franchise, but he has chosen not to take it.
“The Rajasthan Royals, their players and millions of fans worldwide extend to Rahul for their remarkable service in the franchise,” RR said in an official statement.

Dravid joined RR as main coach in September 2024
In the first week of September 2024, Rajasthan Royals (RR) officially announced Rahul Dravid as the new main coach.
The Indian legend signed a multiannual agreement with RR, as he considered it time to take a new challenge after guiding India in the T20 World Cup triumph of the ICC T20.

Dravid captured the Rajasthan Royals at IPL 2012 and 2013, before being named mentor of the team in 2014 and 2015.
