Kirkconnell, 28, reposted a handful of cryptic videos about the end of their respective relationships. In one clipthe caption read, “Real footage of me breaking into my friend’s man’s house after finding out they cheated.”
In the video, a woman went incognito thanks to a police uniform, a hat, a pair of sunglasses and a fake mustache while holding up a camera. He stood behind the door, waiting for his friend’s significant other to come home and then immediately tackled him to the ground.
Kirkconnell also reposted what was drawn by a fan clip oh Sex and the City scenes, where Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) that she had “lost” Aidan’s ex-fiancé (John Corbett).
“I missed you. I lay in bed at night and I think about us and I think about you holding me,” Parker’s Carrie said in voiceover before Aidan shouted, “You broke my heart.” (Carrie notably cheating on Aidan with Mr Chris Nothshe ended up marrying in the first Sex and the City film before his death in And Just Like That.)
Kirkconnell did not explain why he chose to share those videos nor has he accused James, 33, of infidelity. (They have not publicly disclosed the reason for calling him to quit.)
The old Bachelor announce their split on Thursday, January 16.
“Father God, give Rachael and I strength to mend our broken hearts,” James captioned an Instagram photo from their time together The Bachelor. “Give us peace (sic) regarding this decision to end our relationship that goes beyond worldly understanding. Shower our friends and family with kindness and love to comfort us. And remind us that our joy comes from you, Lord 💔.”

Manny Hernandez/WireimageKirkconnell later “liking” a fan’s comment on social media that suggested James’ upload was blinding him. Source confirmed to Us Weekly that she is only out of the loop on her posting timeline and not the split itself.
“The split may seem sudden, but this has been brewing for a while. It was a long time coming,” the alleged source only Us. “Matt couldn’t commit to her.”
The insider also claimed that Kirkconnell and James were struggling with trust issues.
“It was hard for Rachael to trust him,” the source said. “Rachael really wanted to get married and settle down and they weren’t on the same page. She felt like she was waiting around, and he would never give her what she wanted.”
James and Kirkconnell met on season 25 of The Bachelor, which aired in 2020. Although they didn’t get engaged on the show, they left as a couple but separated within weeks. The reality TV alums reconciled in 2021, often pushing back against pressure to take the next steps and get engaged.
“I feel like when you feel pressure, that’s when you don’t want to do something,” James just say Us in June 2024. “So, I’ve never really felt pressure because it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. It’s something we’ll do at some point. That’s why we’re together and what we’re working towards.”
