On June 23, the Mumbai Cricket Association granted the Certificate without Objection (NOC) to Prithvi Shaw to leave Mumbai after the 25-year-old expressed his desire to join another state team.
Shaw’s Mumbai’s departure was made for months, as last year, Mumbai selectors left him from the ranji trophy staff due to a bad way and did not consider him for the Vijay Hazare trophy.
Mumbai selectors told Shaw to work in his physical fitness, and when the batter did not show any improvement, he made a decision to keep him away from the team.
Above all, Prithvi Shaw is going through a rough patch in his career, as he is not near national configuration and has also lost his IPL contract. The young batter was waiting to re -launch his career with his style with Maharashtra and return to the court.
In an official statement published by the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA), Prithiv Shaw said:
“At this stage of my career, I think joining the Maharashtra team will help me grow more as a cricket. I am deeply grateful to the Mumbai Cricket Association for the opportunities and support I have received over the years.
“The Cricket Maharashtra association has made notable efforts in recent years to improve cricketing infrastructure throughout the state. Initiatives such as the League Premier de Maharashtra, the MPL of women, the corporate shield and the DB Deb Deodhar Tournament are testimony to their vision.”
Prithvi Shaw added that joining the Maharashtra team will have a positive impact on his career and expressed his excitement to play with Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ankit Bawne, Rahul Tripathi, Rajneesh Gurbani and others.
“I am sure that being part of such a progressive configuration will positively affect my trip as a cricket. I am happy to have the opportunity to play with talented players such as Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ankit Bawne, Rahul Tripathi, Rajneesh Gurbani and Mukesh Chudhary on Mahashtra team,” said Shaw.
Meanwhile, MCA President Rohit Pawar said that the addition of Shaw to Maharashtra will further strengthen the team and the 25 -year -old can share his experience with the youngest players in the squad. Said:
“We are happy to welcome a Prithvi Caliber player Shaw to Maharashtra team. Its inclusion adds a tremendous strength to a talented team that buy experienced players such as Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ankit Bawne, Rahul Tripathi, Mukesh Chudhary and Rajneesh Gurbani.
“ Shaw’s international experience and IPL will be invaluable, especially for tutoring the younger players in the squad. I exploit my heart thanks to the MCA Apex Council and to the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) for supporting this decision. Maharashtra Clicket Association is firmly behind Prithvi on his new trip and we wish him the best below.
Generally, Shaw has played 5 tests, 6 hatred and 1 T20i for India, scoring 339 rolls in red ball cricket, 189 running in 50 cricket and a duck in his only game of 20 more.
