Sperling, for her part, wore a black-and-white houndstooth jacket with a mustard-colored hat. They were seen reading a program for the Cheltenham race together from their perch on a balcony.
The royal’s sister joined Peter, 47, and Sperling, Zara Tindall, a her husband, Mike Tindall. Zara, 43, and Mike, 46, also brought their three children: Mia, 10, Lena, 6, and Lucas, 3. (Peter is the eldest of the late Queen Elizabeth IIeight grandchildren and his 18th in line to the British throne.)
Peter has been courting Sperling since early 2024, and they made their first public appearance at the Badminton Horse Trials in May. However, Sperling, a nurse in England, did not join her boyfriend at the royal family’s annual Christmas morning service late last month.
Peter was photographed arriving at the Sandringham Estate on December 25, 2024, with Zara, her three children and two daughters. Peter shares Savannah, 13, and Isla, 12, with an ex-wife Autumn Kelly.
Peter and Kelly, 46, separated in 2019, two years before their divorce was finalised. He later moved on with Lindsay Wallace in 2021, but they broke up last year.
Sperling was also previously married and shares a daughter with her former spouse.
“In the earlier years of my journey as a single mother to my daughter, resources were scarce, and the future uncertain,” Sperling wrote in a March 2024 essay for A Woman Lives. “Yet, in the absence of material security, I discovered the strength and life that comes from true selfless love. A love that can be completely devoted to your child.”
He continued, “My daughter and I traveled 10 years together alone. I compare us to an island and it has often felt difficult to imagine anyone joining that island. But of course, beauty comes from relationships, relationship with our maker and relationship with each other. Often raising children is just difficult but even though there is a stigma to bear, God is able to step in and turn it for good.”
Sperling further detailed the “unique relationship” between a single mother and their child, noting that it was forged “in the fires of struggle and triumph.”
“It’s a bond characterized by love and survival against all odds,” he said. “As a Christian, I see this bond as a reflection of God’s unwavering love for us. It teaches us about sacrifice, about the depth of love that is costly and ready to give without expecting anything in return. This journey has deepened my faith, teaching me to trust in God’s plan and find strength in his love.”
