Sayce Holmes-Lewis is Cofounder Mentivity, an organization that seeks to empower young people through youth services including mentoring programs.
Talk only to Weekly US On Friday, April 25, Holmes-Lewis opened around William’s visit to a men’s house in south London on Thursday, April 24.
William, 42, met with young people supported by the organization, and some offered their views on what the royal should do when he ascends the throne, Holmes-Lewis told Us.
“I will be honest, I think the young people mentored Prince William. They gave him advice and told him what he should do. And if he was king, when he becomes king, he should do this,” said Holmes-Lewis.
He added that William’s visit was a “change of life” for the young people that men support.
During the visit, Holmes-Lewis and Mentivity Rofounder Leon Wright Having spoken to William about their upbringing on the Aylesbury estate, where the organization is based, and how it shaped their approach to supporting young people.
“It was an honor just being able to do this because William and I were the same age,” said Holmes-Lewis Us.
“And he was just like someone I’ve seen on television now standing beside me, asking me about my work and my story and my life. And it was just powerful,” he added.
William also participated in a roundtable discussion with other men and businesses about the value of apprenticeships and the barriers facing young people to gain better opportunities.
Holmes-Lewis said William was vocal during the Round Board, offering his encouragement and support to the organization.
“It was amazing that Prince William said, ‘I want to get you to the next level. You need to be national, and I’m going to do everything I can to support you on this journey,'” Holmes-Lewis remembered.
Added that he can feel the recent “legacy” of William’s mother, Princess Diana.
“That’s a witness to him, and his mother’s legacy, because we all loved his mother. It was good to feel that legacy really, you know, through him,” said Holmes-Lewis.
