The Australian Prime Minister promised to take strong measures after the obvious attack on the Synagogue in Melbourne.
Police are looking for a person who poured the fluid on the front door of the synagogue before setting it off on Friday night. About 20 people who had dinner were evacuated without any injuries.
Police are also trying to determine whether this incident is attacked by a Jew restaurant on the same night.
A number of anti-Semitic attacks have taken place in Australia over the past few months, caused by the tension of Israel-Homas war.
The Australian government has appointed a special messenger to combat anti -Semitism and adopted more stringent laws against hate crimes after a wave of high -profile attacks.
“Anti -Semitism has no place in Australia,” said Prime Minister Anthony Albonez after an attack on the Eastern Melbourne synagogue.
“Those who are responsible for these shocking acts should face the full force of the law, and my government will provide all the necessary support for these efforts,” Albanese said.
It is unclear whether the incident was linked to the attack on the Miznon restaurant in the business area of the city, during which the riots broke, throwing chairs and other objects, chanting “death to IDF (Israeli Defense Forces)”. Some attackers handcuffed.
“These events are a serious escalation aimed at our community,” said Alex Rivchin, Executive Director of the Australian Jewish Executive Council.
