Team India fast bowler Prasidh Krishna provided a massive update on skipper Jasprit Bumrah’s injury scare after Day 2 of the fifth Test of the Border-Gavaskar series in Sydney. Prasidh Krishna said Jasprit Bumrah has a back spasm and the medical team is monitoring him for the must-win game in the series.
Bumrah walked out of the dressing room and the stadium midway through the second session on Day 2. Having bowled after lunch, the bowler did not return to the field. In Bumrah’s absence, Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna took over the bowling duties for India in Australia.
Jasprit Bumrah appeared to be holding his back as he left and was seen donning his training gear. The right-arm pacer had to leave the field for scans and was escorted by support staff to a team car. He later returned to the Sydney venue and went straight into the dressing room.
Prasidh Krishna confirmed in a press conference that Bumrah experienced a back spasm. He added that the medical team is monitoring Bumrah’s condition. Krishna mentioned that the medical team would provide further updates on his condition.
“He had a back spasm. The medical team is monitoring him. They did a scan. The medical team will update,” Krishna told reporters.
