The EU is investigating Pornhub, Stripchat and two more pornography sites that can be subjected to legislation on the Internet.
The European Commission has stated that sites, which also include Xvideos and XNXX, do not have measures to protect children and their rights.
It states that this included a clear lack of “appropriate” age checking methods to stop children who turn to adult material.
“The Internet platforms should guarantee that the rights and best interests of the children are the main place in the development and functioning of their services,” the statement reads.
BBC turned to PornHub and Stripchat for comments.
The commission said its initial research The four platforms have not been found to have taken “appropriate and proportional measures to ensure a high level of privacy, security and safety for minors.”
It states that the platforms are also not fulfilled by the requirements for porn sites to use age -checking tools to protect children from adult contents.
The commission spokesman said the pop-up windows, which are currently used by some porn sites, asking users or over 18 years of age.
The platforms were also found to not introduce the “risk assessment and mitigation of the consequences of any negative consequences for the child’s rights, mental and physical well-being of users,” the statement reads.
This happens against the background of broader control over online pornography services around the world, and many regulators seek to crack those who have no age check.
Online Security Regulator in the UK recently announced two studies on porn sites that seem to have no methods to check the age of users.
In early May, it is said that ITAI Tech Ltd – working the so -called “Undific” – and Score Internet Group LLC failed to demonstrate how they prevented the children access to their platforms.
PornHub – the most visited porn -saight in the world – and 19, which visits the whole internet, According to similar Web.
But it is under the strengthening of regulation.
He blocked access to his site in 16 US states, including Alabama, Florida, Louisiana and Texas, which passed the laws that require it to check the age of users.
In January, the blog said that the age check should occur on user devices, such as through its operating system, not on individual disabilities.
It states that this will be a simpler process for regulators and increase privacy for users.
Companies subject to the EU investigation have been labeled as a very large internet platform in accordance with the digital law (DSA) law in 2023.
According to a wide range of digital content, they face tightened requirements for the fight against harmful and illegal materials on the platforms.
If the suspicions of DSA violations are confirmed, the platforms may face further compulsion action or ultimately fines up to 6% of their annual turnover.
The commission stated that on Tuesday, that Stripchat would no longer be appointed so -called VLOP, but its suspected failure to comply with digital content rules will still be studied.
Smaller platforms that do not match EU user 45 m should also follow the BLOC digital rules for the protection of children, the report said.
Coordinated actions by the Member States will also seek to fulfill the requirements for smaller pornography sites.
“Our priority is to protect the minors and allow them to be safely navigating on the Internet,” said Heno Virkunun, the executive vice-president of the sovereignty, security and democracy commission.
“Together with digital service coordinators, we decided to resolve any potential damage to young users on the Internet.”
