Pope Leo explains the name: AI, the right workers

Pope Leo XIV Saturday said he partially chose his name to celebrate Pope Leo XIII For commitment to social problems and rights during the industrial revolution.

Speaking just a few days after the pantiff’s election, he said now the world is facing Artificial intelligence.

“In our day, the Church offers all the Treasury of its social learning in response to another industrial revolution and to develop artificial intelligence, which create new problems for the protection of human dignity, justice and work,” said Pope Leo.

Pope Leo’s remarks, his first meeting with all the cardinals since his time election May 8 provide one of the earliest signs of his vision guidance and priorities as chapter Catholic church.

Pope Leo also suggested during the first meeting with the Cardinals since his election that he would follow the late Pope Francis‘His commitment to social justice.

“In the example of so many of my predecessors, it was clearly visible, and most recently Pope Francis himself, with an example of complete devotion to serving and sober simplicity of life, his abandonment of God throughout his ministry and his peaceful trust at the time of his father’s home,” he said.

Francis, who has been the Pope for 12 years, often caused criticism of conservative cardinals, who stated that he was pouring the doctrine of the Church on issues such as LGBT Catholics and women’s leadership.

Leo XIII, partial inspiration for the name of Pope Leo, was elected in 1878. He was a great figure in the social teaching of the Catholic Church, especially around the rights of the working and working class.

Pope Leo is the first American Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church.
