World celebrities and leaders mourn for the death Pope Francis.
The Vatican confirmed on Monday, April 21, that the leader of the Catholic Church died on Easter Monday at the age of 88.
“Dear brothers and sisters, with deep sadness I must proclaim the death of our holy Father Francis,” Cardinal Kevin FarrellThe Vatican Camerlengo said, in a statement on Monday. “At 7:35 this morning the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the Father’s house. His whole life was consecrated to the service of the Lord and his Church.
“With tremendous thanksgiving for his example as a true disciple of the Lord Jesus, we commend the soul of the Pope Francis to the infinite merciful love of the Triune God,” Farrell concluded.
The death of the Pope Francis will be mourned by millions of Catholics worldwide, including celebrities as Whoopi Goldberg.
