Pope Francis met many stars, including Mark Walberg and Angelina Jolie

During his 12 years as head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, died on Monday at the age of 88, associated with many Hollywood elites.

Here are some other celebrities who were honored to cross the paths with Pope Francis.

Leonardo Di Caprio

The actor was awarded the Olive Medal of Peace because he agreed to work at the Pope’s Fund, Scholas Occurrentes, which works on connection of 400,000 schools from different countries.

Bono

Bono, soloist of the popular U2 band, met Pope Francis several times. He first met with the Pope in a private audience with him in the Vatican in September 2018, when they reportedly talked about different topics.

Speaking to the journalists after the meeting, Bono said that the Pope was “incredibly merciful time, his concentration.”

They met again in May 2022 at a meeting for launching international movement Scholas Occurentes.

Chris Rock

Chris Rock Pope Francis met in June 2024, when he and 100 other comedians, including Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert and Julia Louis Dreifus, were invited by the Pope to the Vatican to emphasize the importance of comedy in society.

“You manage to make people smile, even when they deal with problems and events, big and small,” Pope Rock and other comedians said. “You denote the abuse of power, you give the voice of forgotten situations, you point to inadequate behavior. Antonio Banderas

In April 2016, Antonio Banderas was able to quickly talk to Pope Francis during one of his weekly audiences with his followers, which runs on St. Peter’s Square, just in front of St. Peter’s Basilica.

The Desperad star posted his photo that shook the Pope’s hand, writing “a nice chat with Pope Francis before we start shooting in #rome.”

He was most likely in Italy, making the movie “Black Butterfly”, which was released in May 2017.

Arnold sChwarzenegger

During one of Pope Francis’ weekly audiences at St. Peter’s Square, Arnold Schwarzenegger Lucky to shake his hand and talk to his holiness.

The actor shared a photo of his meeting, calling it a “great pride” with him.

“It was my great honor to meet my holiness @pontifex. I am a big fan,” he wrote in the signature. “The real leader of the Church and the steward for all the creatures of God.”

Mark Walberg
