Pope Francis’ body now lies in the Santa Martha residence chapel, where he lived during his 12-year-old pap.
His body will be transferred from Santa -Martha in St. Peter’s Basilica in the procession, starting from 09:00 local time on Wednesday, the Vatican said.
On the eve of the transfer, at the time of the prayer will be managed by Cardinal Kevin Farral, who acts as chamber – A person who manages the Vatican after the death or resignation of the Pope.
Then Cardinal Farrell will bring the procession to St. Peter, starting from St. Martha’s square and ends in St. Peter’s Square before entering the church through the central door.
After entering the church, Cardinal Farrell will lead the liturgy of the word before the church is open to visitors to pay their respect.
The conductive tradition will not be privately viewing the cardinals at the request of Pope Francis. The Pope’s coffin will also not be raised on a pedestal.
The Holy See said the Pope’s funeral would take place on the square in front of St. Peter’s Basilica on Saturday, starting at 10:00 local time.
The service is headed by the Cardinal College Dean, Cardinal Giovanni Batista.
Patriarchs, cardinals, archbishops, bishops and priests from all over the world will take part.
By 08:30 Archbishopes and bishops will gather in the Konstantinian wing adjacent to the basilica, in the liturgical clothing, including a simple white miter.
At the same time, the priests gather at St. Peter’s Square in the red temple.
And by 09:00, patriarchs and cardinals will be gathered in the chapel of St. Sebastian, in the Basilica, in the White Metrors of Damascus.
The service will end with the ultimate gratitude and hair, noting the beginning of nine days of mourning for the Pope, the Catholic Agency reports.
Then the pantiff’s body will be admitted to the church before moving Mary Major in Rome for burial.
Pope Francis, who decided to scale part of the pompogy and ceremony of his predecessors, asked him to bury Mary St. Mary, not in the cry of St. Peter’s Basilica – which made him the first Pope who was not buried in St. Peter for more than a century.
He also asked to bury in one wooden box, unlike his predecessors, which were buried in the traditional three -laid coffins.
The funeral is expected to attract a huge crowd from all over the world.
State and Royalti heads will go to Italy for the event. Among those who have already announced a visit are US President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The funeral announcement happened shortly after the Vatican released the official images of the Pope’s body, showing that he was lying in a wooden coffin, dressed in a red robe from a papal miter on his head and a rosary in his hand.
After the funeral, the conclave of the cardinals will be convened to choose the successor. The Cardinal College’s Dean has 15 to 20 days to summon Cardinals to Rome when the Pope is buried.
Pope Francis died of a stroke on Monday less than 24 hours after a wheelchair appeared on St. Peter’s Square to head an Easter address to thousands of believers.
His death followed the period of bad health, which he saw him spent five weeks at a double pneumonia hospital.
Born in Argentina, he was elected the first in the history of the Latin Pope in 2013.
